UAE Traffic Fine Discounts 2026: 35%, 50% and Payment Plans

UAE traffic fines are often cheaper than the number on the screen – if you pay at the right time. Every emirate rewards early payment, and national campaigns can halve a fine. This guide covers the UAE traffic fine discounts available in 2026 by emirate, the instalment plans for bigger penalties, and the one cost a discount never touches. To see whether a fine also carries black points, use our UAE black points calculator.

How UAE traffic fine discounts work

Discounts are tied to how quickly you pay. Pay soon after the violation and you get the largest cut; leave it and the discount shrinks or disappears. The discount is applied automatically when you pay through the official channel such as the MOI UAE app, so there is no code to enter – just pay within the window. Amounts vary a little by emirate.

So a AED 1,000 fine paid promptly in any emirate typically falls to around AED 650, and during a 50% campaign it can drop to AED 500. The exact figure is shown before you confirm payment.

Instalment and 0% payment plans

For larger fines, you do not have to pay in one hit. Official instalment plans let you spread the amount, and in Abu Dhabi banks including First Abu Dhabi Bank and ADCB offer 0% interest plans – typically from a minimum of AED 1,000 over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months. Keeping up with the instalments in Dubai also generally earns around a 25% discount, so a plan can be both easier on cash flow and cheaper overall.

The one thing a discount never removes

This is the trap. A discount lowers the dirham amount – it does not remove the black points and it does not cancel a vehicle confiscation. You can pay a fine at half price and still be carrying the points that push you toward a suspended licence. So treat the discount as money management, and manage the points separately through our UAE black points system guide.

How to claim your discount

There is nothing to claim – just pay within the window through an official channel and the discount is applied automatically. The full list of where to check and pay in each emirate is in our guide to checking and paying UAE traffic fines. Check your fines regularly so you never slip past the 60-day mark.
