Frequently asked questions
What are the UAE fuel prices this month?
For October 2026: Special 95 at AED 4.28 per litre, Super 98 at AED 4.40, E-Plus 91 at AED 4.21 and diesel at AED 4.80 - up 50-60 fils a litre on September. The UAE Fuel Price Committee revises prices on the first of every month in line with global oil markets, and we update this calculator each time.
How do I find my car's consumption figure?
Most cars show average consumption on the trip computer as L/100km. Sedans typically run 7-10 L/100km, SUVs 10-14, and large 4x4s 14-18. Or divide litres at a full refill by kilometres driven since the last one, times 100.
Is Super 98 worth the extra cost?
Only if your engine requires it - check the fuel flap or manual. Engines designed for 95 gain nothing measurable from 98, which costs 12 fils more per litre in October 2026 (about 3%).
How much does a full tank cost in the UAE?
At October 2026 prices a 50-litre sedan tank of Special 95 costs about AED 214, a 70-litre SUV tank about AED 300 and an 80-litre 4x4 tank of Super 98 about AED 352. Enter your own monthly kilometres above for a budget rather than a single fill.

How to calculate fuel cost in the UAE

The formula is simple: kilometres driven x litres per 100 km / 100 x price per litre. Drive 2,000 km a month in a car that uses 9 litres per 100 km and you burn 180 litres. At AED 4.04 for Special 95 that is about AED 727 a month, or AED 8,726 a year. The petrol calculator above does the same sum for any car and any grade, and adds your cost per km so you can compare it with a taxi or the Metro.

Monthly petrol cost by car type

Typical consumption figures at 1,500 km a month – roughly a Dubai to Sharjah commute plus weekend driving – using November 2026 prices.

Ways to cut your petrol budget

Use Special 95 unless your manual says 98 – most engines gain nothing from the premium grade. Keep tyres at the pressure on the door sticker, because soft tyres quietly add a few percent to consumption. Ease off the air conditioning at idle, avoid the E11 at peak crawl where you can and use fuel-station loyalty programmes from ADNOC, ENOC and EPPCO, which return a small cashback on every fill.

Your complete cost of driving

Fuel is usually only a third of the real cost. Stack the rest with our calculators: Salik tolls, parking, car loan EMI and depreciation – the silent one that costs more than fuel for most owners. If you’re weighing whether to drive at all, the Dubai taxi fare calculator gives you the other side of the sum.

Prices verified 2 November 2026 against the UAE Fuel Price Committee announcement, published via the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. Estimates are for budgeting only – real consumption varies with driving style, traffic and load.
