Celebrate the Strength and Resilience of Women with TOD this International Women's Day

Movie and TV lovers throughout the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) can join in the global celebrations marking International Women’s Day on March 8 by tuning into curated content, featuring several female-focused movies and documentaries showcasing the ambitions, grit, resilience, and sisterhood of women worldwide.

Viewers looking for true-to-life female-inspired stories can stream documentaries available on the platform, devoted to exceptional women athletes including MENA’s very own tennis champion Ons Jabeur. ‘L’etoile de Tunisie’ is a biography that digs deep into the sporting icon who was first introduced to tennis at the age of three by her mother. She went on to rank No. 2 worldwide and as the highest-ranked player in African and Arab tennis in WTA and ATP history. Jabeur has won three singles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as eleven singles titles and one doubles’ title on the ITF Women’s Circuit.  

Viewers can also be inspired by other sports documentaries including titles such as ‘Freeman’, ‘Victoria’, ‘Spirit of Sport’ that chronicle the lives of famous athletes such as Cathy Freeman, Victoria Azarenka, Simone Biles, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Naomi Osaka.

TOD will be streaming ‘Tie Break Tens’ the exciting new quick-fire version of tennis live from Indian Wells for MENA viewers on March 8, 2023. The one-day tennis competition featuring mixed-doubles knockout matches includes female players Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Ons Jabeur & Emma Radacanu. 

Additionally, sports fans can access the recently concluded Qatar TOTALENERGIES WTA tournament, or cheer for their favourite team at the returning UEFA Women Champions League in March and FIFA Women’s World Cup™ in July.
