Aster Volunteers, the global CSR arm of Aster DM Healthcare, has flagged off its latest three Mobile Medical Service units from Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital, Al Qusais, in Dubai. These units aim to assist victims in disaster zones across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, these mobile units are set to deliver essential medical and healthcare services directly to disadvantaged individuals, significantly enhancing healthcare accessibility in remote and underserved areas.

Innovative Mobile Medical Units for Enhanced Healthcare Accessibility

The newly launched mobile medical units are a part of the internal “Asterians United” program, involving dedicated Aster DM Healthcare employees. These units are equipped with solar panels to harness renewable energy and are linked to a telemedicine setup, allowing comprehensive diagnostic and specialty medical services to reach those in need. By providing consultations, first-aid treatment, and other essential medical services directly to communities, these mobile medical vans are a game-changer for healthcare accessibility in disaster-prone regions.

Deployment in Disaster Zones

The Aster Volunteers Mobile Medical Services (AVMMS) units will assist natural disaster victims in the Atlas Mountains in the Taroudant Region in Morocco through NGO Jeunes d’Atlas. Additionally, these units will support prompt short-term missions in disaster-affected zones in the West Asia & Africa Region through Emirates Red Crescent. This strategic deployment ensures that immediate medical aid reaches those most need it, especially in regions with limited access to healthcare facilities.

Aster Volunteers Mobile Medical Services: A Unique CSR Initiative

AVMMS is a pioneering CSR initiative by Aster DM Healthcare aimed at bridging the gap in healthcare accessibility by providing free medical camps and disaster aid support to needy communities in remote areas. Since its inception, AVMMS has treated over 1.4 million individuals across India, the Middle East, and Africa, positively impacting lives in regions with limited or no access to medical facilities. The initiative boasts a global network of over 40 units, with plans underway for new units in Bangladesh, Tanzania, and Zanzibar.

Global Support and Expansion Plans

The AVMMS initiative is supported by Aster DM Foundation (ADMF) International, Asterians United, and Emirates Red Crescent. Future expansions include new mobile units in Rwanda, Uganda, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, continuing the commitment to reaching needy communities. These expansions testify to Aster DM Healthcare’s dedication to providing accessible healthcare solutions globally.

Launch Event and Key Representatives

The keys for the new mobile units were handed over to officials from the Consulate of Morocco and Emirates Red Crescent during a launch event attended by key representatives. Among the attendees were Aster officials, Mr. Iqbal Khan, CEO of Fajr Capital, other key Fajr Capital officials, Emaar officials, and Emirates Red Crescent officials. Ms. Alisha Moopen, Managing Director & Group CEO, Aster DM Healthcare FZC, flagged off the mobile units, marking a significant milestone in Aster’s journey towards global health and well-being.

This global corporate social responsibility initiative focuses on healthcare, education, social empowerment, environmental sustainability, and disaster aid initiatives, driven by the Aster DM Foundation.
