Today, adidas by Stella McCartney unveils its Spring/Summer 2023 TrueNature collection. The drop blends unique satellite prints with high-performance technologies that have been crafted from natural pigments and fabrics, designed for exploring the world outside.
Paying homage to the great outdoors, the new collection provides a distinct embodiment of the vastness and beauty of nature from above. Hero pieces capture a contemporary take on Earth and weather satellite images, alongside conceptual contours, and ley lines of maps. Available in bold hues of blue and green to mirror the natural landscape, the tactical silhouettes can be layered for versatility and freedom to move outside.
Giving a voice to the next generation, key pieces in the capsule are also adorned with a typography print featuring wording from the adidas by Stella McCartney manifesto. With phrases including ‘not a reset, but a restart’ and ‘no compromise’, the design symbolises the next generation’s quest and is inspired by the contrast between graphic lettering and ocean weather prints – as seen on the Scuba Shorts.
With leading technologies such as Parley Ocean Plastic and WIND.RDY, the collection has been crafted to protect the next generation of active activists. Key pieces include the Hika sandal, adidas by Stella McCartney’s first-ever sandal made with natural and renewable materials, and the reimagined Seeulator – designed with a water-repellent textile upper to keep feet warm and dry while exploring. A range of pieces are also available in inclusive sizing, including the graphic sweatshirt, sweatpants, and running tights.
Exploring new possibilities for performance wear, each piece in the collection has been made in part with recycled materials as part of adidas’ ambition to help end plastic waste
Speaking about the SS23 TrueNature collection, Stella McCartney said:
“Connection to nature is an important part of my life and work, which is why the TrueNature collection is so special to me. When crafting this drop, we wanted it to embody the freedom and natural highs you feel when immersed in nature and symbolise how a different point of view can be so captivating. I’m also thrilled to introduce our first-ever Hika sandal, which will be core to all summer expeditions. It is this type of unique technical style that makes our collaboration so fresh and exciting – together, we continue to push the boundaries of sport style season after season.”
Key pieces from the drop include:
TrueNature Scuba Shorts
A tight fit and easy look make the Scuba Shorts a stylish yet comfortable option. Paired with a cosy sweatshirt or windbreaker, they are the perfect counterpoint to oversized style — or a cropped tee. A gradient of color catches the eye with the all-over typography print for a look that provides an all-day, effortlessly cool look.
adidas by Stella McCartney’s first-ever sandal is made with natural and renewable materials, including a midsole crafted from 50% BIO EVA from sugarcane – part of adidas’ journey to design out finite resources and help end plastic waste. Protective and functional, the sandals can be easily slipped on and keep wearers comfortable no matter the adventure.
Reintroducing an adidas staple, the Seeulator shoe features a sock upper constructed from Primeknit technology and contrasting leather overlays for a fusion of performance, style, and protection. Upper is made with at least 25% recycled materials, the shoe is designed with a water-repellent textile upper – keeping feet warm and dry while exploring in cold conditions.
Designed with adidas’ WIND.RDY fabric, the all-in-one keeps wearers warm while still providing breathability. With reflective lines along the body and legs as well as a half zip design for easy wear, this running all-in-one is ideal for exploring and embracing nature in style. It is made from 100% recycled polyester and features a back pocket perfect for storing away any small belongings.
TruePace High Support Sports Bra
From hiking outdoors to the most intense HIIT classes, this sports bra is designed to help wearers move with confidence. The high-support bra features swan hooks on the elastic chest band and adjustable straps allowing wearers to customise the fit and shape exactly how they want it. Made of smooth, slick fabric that feels cool to the touch. AEROREADY manages moisture during high-energy training, while the wide, padded straps distribute weight evenly and do not dig in.
The TrueNature collection is available from Feb 16th on https://www.adidas.ae/en/gym_training and via the adidas app.
