Engaging the Community for a Cleaner Future
What sets Swim for Clean Seas apart is its proactive approach to environmental advocacy. Instead of solemn lectures and dry statistics, the event captivates participants through fun, interactive activities designed to educate and inspire. From educational games to informative workshops, Swim for Clean Seas creates a platform where individuals of all ages and backgrounds can come together for a common cause: the preservation of our oceans.

A Collaboration for Conservation
In a groundbreaking move, Swim for Clean Seas has joined forces with The Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center, marking a significant milestone in its journey. Led by Center Director Dr. Elise Marquis and Educational Manager Erin Eaton, this partnership underscores the event’s commitment to environmental stewardship. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to engage with the Center’s team, learning about marine life conservation firsthand and gaining insights into the pressing issues facing our oceans today.
Empowering Future Generations
This year, Swim for Clean Seas introduces a new initiative: the ‘School Swim Ambassadors’ program. Through a series of workshops leading up to the event, these ambassadors will showcase their efforts in tackling plastic waste, highlighting the importance of individual action in combating ocean pollution. Their presence serves as a powerful reminder that every contribution, no matter how small, plays a vital role in shaping a sustainable future for our planet.
Inspiring Action through Leadership
As Swim for Clean Seas Ambassador, Dr. Sarra Lajnef OLY, aptly puts it, “No action is small.” The first Tunisian female swimmer to qualify for the Olympics, Dr. Lajnef embodies the spirit of resilience and determination. Her presence at the event serves as a source of inspiration for swimmers of all abilities, encouraging them to take a stand for the health of our seas. With her rallying cry, she reminds us that the power to effect change lies within each and every one of us.

Uniting for a Common Cause
Co-founder Felicia Agmyren echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the collective impact of community action. “If we come together, collectively, we can make a greater impact for the health of our seas,” she asserts. Swim for Clean Seas is more than just an event; it’s a testament to the power of unity and shared purpose. By joining forces, we can create a ripple effect of positive change that extends far beyond the shores of Saadiyat Island.
